When we speak about God’s hiddenness, we’re speaking about what the Latins called “Deus Absconditus,” The Hidden God. 

There are times in the Christian life when God hides; Times when He shields Himself from our visibility.  Though God is always there, an everywhere…. He cannot be ‘not there.’  But this phrase best describes the awful and painstaking experience of knowing God has chosen not to reveal Himself to us at a given time.
